Understanding and Using the Law of Attraction

Understanding and Using the Law of Attraction

Sometimes we read books or articles that improve or change our lives. For me, it was The Law of Attraction. People have been writing about this idea for hundreds of years, so it isn’t a new concept. The Law of Attraction is a basic principle or universal law that asserts “Like energy attracts like energy”. What does this mean? We are made of energy that is continually sent out to the world. Our energy consists of the way we think, speak, behave and feel. This energy seeks out similar energy, attracts it, and returns it to us. There are old sayings that reflect this law: “Birds of a feather flock together”, and “We are the company we keep”. We, therefore, significantly influence our lives and reality by attracting things to us, both positively and negatively.

It’s All about Energy

The big takeaway from this article – the Law of Attraction is about our energy and how we use it. Positive people send good energy out to their world and in return, many good and positive things come their way. Similarly, negative people send negative energy out and receive exactly what they ask for – negative experiences, thoughts and people. Like attracts like. It is that simple. And, you can get many things in your life by projecting your energy and asking for what you want.

The Law of Attraction in 3 Steps

  1. Ask for what you want in your life and engage in purposeful action to achieve your goals. This may be more difficult than it sounds, because most people don’t know what they truly want in this life. They know more about what they don’t want.
  2. Believe that your thoughts and actions will lead to your goals and accomplishments. Put your beliefs into full purposeful practice. If you doubt that your thoughts and actions will not yield what you desire, you will most likely fail. Have faith and get ready!
  3. Receive what you have asked and have worked for with your eyes wide open. Once you realize you are receiving what you have asked for, engage in gratitude. Many people receive what they ask for but are not grateful. Do you know anyone like this?

Manage Your Energy

Your energy comes from many internal and external sources. The power of positive thinking and attitudes is one that you can tap into and use every day. Ask yourself – “What kinds of attitudes are you attracting?” Perhaps the greatest form of energy that we emit is the power of love. Do you mainly send out love energy or something other than love? Gratitude is a very positive and powerful form of energy. Most of us continue to strive for greater success, more money, a bigger house, or a new car. That’s ok, but do you stop and practice the Attitude of Gratitude? Being grateful for what you have, where you live, your family, health and your career can be very healing and peaceful and can attract more things for you to be grateful about.

There are other powerful forms of energy that you experience and send out to your world. The power of visualization can help create a road map to destinations you would like to get to. If you don’t see it in your mind first, how can you ever get there? Where are you going to be next year? How about 5 to 10 years from now? The power of visualization and help materialize your goals and ambitions. Furthermore, the power of imagination can take your goals to a new high. If you cannot imagine where you will be, how you will be, or what you will have – how can it come to be? If you cannot see it, create energy around it, it is unlikely to happen.

The final two forms of energy are as important as the first five – the power of relationships and groups. At the end of the day, the single, most important thing at home or work, is the quality of relationships you have with people. Be positive, send good energy, be kind and loving, and these kinds of relationships will come your way. Emit hate, distrust, and drama and these types of energy will come right back to you. Which would you rather experience? Lastly, the energy from the groups you belong to matter concerning what you get in return. This is very important as a family – what kind of energy does your family create and send out to the world? It is equally important at work. What kind of energy does your administrative staff maintain and send? How about your employees? Mainly positive or negative?

Final Words on Understanding and Using the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction is old as thought itself. It is a powerful way of attracting what we want in our lives. Do unto others, be positive, exercise gratitude, give of yourself, and live lovingly. Ask for want you want out of life. Have faith that it will find you. Open your eyes, heart and hands and receive it with deep gratitude. It also doesn’t hurt to look into the sky… and smile.
